SVM Global Employees raise thousands for Charity
Employees at SVM Global enjoyed a very busy year of fundraising in 2015 – raising over £5000 for charity. During the company took part in many events, including Swimathons, ‘Bake Offs’ and Colour Runs.
These events raised money for a number of charities, including MacMillan Cancer Support and Sport Relief. The main beneficiary was Bluebell Wood Hospice in Sheffield. The hospice offers care and support to children with a shortened life expectancy, both in their own homes and at the hospice in North Anston.
The cheque presentation event, raised at SVM Global’s headquarters, was also attended by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council representatives and key staff from SVM Global’s Chicago Headquarters.
Mandy Rafferty, Corporate Fundraiser at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, was on hand to collect the cheque from Katrina Dunne, Talent Director of SVM Global. Mandy said: “Our focus at Bluebell Wood is to make sure every child with a life shortening condition and their family members are supported well through the toughest times imaginable.
“It costs more than £4 million to run our hospice and we couldn’t do it without the passion of people like the employees of SVM Global. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
Bluebell Wood will this year host a range of events including wing walking, a soap box derby and charity skydiving – something the SVM Global employees were keen to volunteer Managing Director, Brian Dunne for!
Brian added: “We are thrilled with the work that Bluebell Wood do and we are incredibly happy to have put much needed cash towards this great cause. The SVM Global family has grown now to well over 100 – and hopefully this will have a positive effect on the amount we can raise in 2016 for this fantastic charity.”
The overall total raised in 2015 was an impressive £5,775.86!
