Did you get a gift card last year?

The UKGCVA conducted a survey of 1,300 U.K. consumers about digital gifting at the back end of 2016 and there were some interesting results! From the huge study they found that 95 percent of millennials would be willing to purchase digital gift cards and vouchers as a gift.

You might think that the younger working generation want digital or nothing else - but the study also showed suprisingly that whilst 21 percent of millennials have redeemed gift cards or vouchers online within the past 12 months, and 42 percent of the generation said they prefer plastic gift cards over digital ones.

The survey, conducted by Verdict Retail, also indicated that 28 percent of baby boomers had redeemed gift cards or vouchers online 6 to 10 times within the past year. “The figures uncovered an unexpected change in buying patterns, with baby boomers preferring to receive and use digital options compared to millennial children and grandchildren,” according to the report.
